Segun Aina Foundation (SAF) programmes are focused on all-round growth and development for youths. These flagship programmes are tailored to meet the needs of youths with various ages and educational background. The programmes will contribute to the achievement of Agenda 2063 and SDG 4, 8, 9 and 17.
These programmes aim at providing youths with needed support to thrive and be productive individuals. The educational support programmes of the foundation improve the quality of education delivered to the marginalized and less privileged. The capacity building programmes help young people in terms of self-discovery, leadership, mentoring and position them for great career opportunities and employments. The economic support programmes promote entrepreneurship and also curb the problem of unemployment in the society while the ICT programmes foster digital inclusion and literacy at the grass root level and also promote innovation and creative thinking ability among the youths.
The educational support programme is a veritable platform to enable brilliant but indigent students in the communities who need financial assistance to complete their education, achieve career goals and succeed. This is anchored on the founder’s belief that every child deserves an opportunity to self actualize.
The programme has benefited many students for the past 25years and we desire to do more over the next quarter of a century.

Activities
The following activities enable us achieve the goals under the SAF Educational Support Programme. We invite you to partner with us.
i. SAF Scholarship
The SAF scholarship program is the major trademark program, which entails awarding scholarships to brilliant and indigent students of Osun State. This scholarship covers their educational costs from Senior Secondary School (SSS) 1 till graduation from University as long as they can meet up with the requirements. The recipients of this Scholarship Award are best students in Junior West African Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in Osun State who are assembled annually to participate in a selection exercise to decide who are the best and most eligible for the Scholarship.
ii. Donation of Books and Science Materials
The Foundation makes plans and efforts to donate books and science materials to public schools. This is to support the government in the provision of quality education in fulfilment of the 4th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG-4).
iii. Interschool Quiz programme
SAF organizes Interschool competitions for public schools in Boluwaduro Local Government. As this initiative continues, the Foundation is looking at the possibilities of expanding participation to other parts of Osun State.
iv. Training for Educators and Teachers
SAF is involved in the training of teachers in Osun State. It is our belief that if education will be developed qualitatively, there is a need to cater not for only the students but also for the teachers who transfer knowledge to them. These trainings will further empower teachers on how to enhance the delivery of quality education to students.
The capacity building programmes are designed to enable Nigerian youth acquire skills, knowledge, training and mentoring that empower towards easy realization of their full potentials. These activities have equipped youth in communities with tools to improve performance, self-sustenance, productivity, and personal development in their chosen fields.
We actively seek the support of partners and other capacity building organisations to enable us enlist more youth into this programme.
Our capacity building programmes are aimed at helping the youth to become good leaders and better individuals who are valuable to themselves and the society at large. The programmes include:
i. SAF Leadership Network
This SAF’s mentorship programme is aimed at students in tertiary institutions. It is coordinated by SAF Awardees with the supervision of the SAF Team. The students in the tertiary institutions who are SAF awardees will organize meetings and educate one another. This will keep the awardees engaged on their different campuses and also help them impact their community. Their contribution to this programme will be accounted for as social impact in the renewal process of their scholarship.
ii. SAF Youth Empowerment Scheme
SAF-YES is a capacity building and self-sustenance training programme for Youths who are not in higher institutions. The participants are empowered with vocational skills to promote creativity and self-sustainability.
iii. Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development (LEAD)
SAF’s LEAD is a programme for Teenagers. This program is intended to train teenagers on four (4) different aspects:
a. Leadership
b. Financial Literacy
c. Vocational Training
d. Digital Training
iv. SAF Catch Them Young Initiative
This SAF’s initiative caters for little children. Annually, SAF gathers less privileged children in the society and organize an event called SAF End of the Year Children Fun Fair party for them. In this event, the children engage in games, drama and other activities. The purpose of this event is to give the less privileged children an opportunity to celebrate Christmas and discover their talents.
This programme has assisted many youth and market women in alleviating poverty and expanding economic activities in the communities. The Economic support programme is focused on the empowerment of youth entrepreneurs and market women with interest free loans to support their micro and small businesses.

Our economic support programme is delivered through SAF Rural Entrepreneurship Support Scheme (SAF-RESS).
SAF-RESS is a relaunch of SAF UNDP Loan Scheme. It focuses on helping SMEs, women and youth entrepreneurs by:
a. Giving them interest free loans
b. Training them on financial literacy
c. Providing business support consultancy
This programme exists to benefit secondary schools and undergraduate students. These youths receive training in digital literacy to enable them appropriate opportunities in the digital space and increase the prospects of a better life. Under the programme, participants are introduced to the basics of graphic design, word processing packages, coding, etc.,
We urgently need the support of collaborating partners, individuals and corporate organizations to enable us enrich the ICT programme.
We deliver our ICT programme to the community through an initiative called SAF Innovate. SAF Innovate is a technology initiative. It involves training in digital literacy and establishment of innovation hubs in rural areas.
SAF Innovate features ICT trainings for kids, secondary school students, undergraduates and graduates. The purpose of this initiative is to promote digital literacy amongst youths and enlighten them on how they can harness it to make their lives better.
The general enlightenment programme offers insights and tips to individuals for expansion of knowledge and professional guidance. Under this programme, experienced professionals and successful entrepreneurs share knowledge and nuggets of wisdom across topical issues in health and healthcare, technology, business, entrepreneurship and leadership. This may extend to career paths and development. These success stories are structured to inspire and motivate the listening publics to succeed.
We need sponsorship and support of influencers, volunteers and the media to sustain this programme.
The delivery of our general enlightenment programmes are structured as follows:
i. SAF Your Future Counts
This is a radio programme organised SAF, which is aired on Osun State Broadcasting Corporation. It is aimed at motivating people to pursue success and excellence. It features sessions with dignitaries and influential members of the society who share their life stories to motivate the audience. SAF is working on redefining the programme through the use of latest technological solutions e.g. podcast to make it up to date and also reach a larger audience.
ii. SAF Youth Enlightenment Series
The SAF Youth Enlightenment Series is a Webinar series that is aimed at informing youths in relation to self-development, leadership, career, employability etc. This initiative features sessions with professionals from different fields and disciplines who shed light on the topics of discussion and how it is applicable to day-to-day use.
